After a 17 hours journey with bad food and good sleep, we have reached Puerto Madryn. It was a total surprise to us. We did not expect such high prices, almost more expensive than Buenos Aires. Considering that the town receives more than 800,000 visitors per year, it`s understandable. We found a nice and pretty cheap hotel where to stay, without internet access or breakfast.
As we are starting to realize we are on a budget, decided to eat more from the supermarkets. That will mean cheese and tomatoes for me and a bit more from where to choose for Borja.
Today it was a relaxing day at the beach, as the temperatures are pretty high (almost 30 degrees). Also tried the water, but for me it was too cold. Nevertheless we got a bit of red skin, hoping for more in the next few days.
The town is a turistic one, with nice houses near the beach and very high prices. A good place to live if you are 60 or more... Borja found his ancestors over these parts. It seems that there is a famous house called the Pujol chalet after the name of it`s owner, a rich comerciant that of course is now dead. The girl that told us the story promised to show us tomorrow the photo of the mighty Pujol. Borja is 90 percent sure that he looks like him. We will see about that...
Tomorrow we will leave in the morning for the Peninsula Valdes tour. Hope to see pinguins, orcas and other sea mamals.
